Your information
Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026 · Last updated October 25, 2026
This policy explains how we handle information on OrangePower.net, including Discord sign-in, the Big 12 Power Poll, and Pick’em. Questions or requests can be sent to contact@orangepower.net.
Information we collect
- Discord profile: when you sign in, we receive your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar image reference, and legacy discriminator if present. We create an internal member ID and record your first and most recent sign-in times. Our community bot also retrieves your latest join date in the OrangePower Discord server, which we store separately from your website signup date and display on your private account page.
- Participation: we store your poll rankings, the poll they belong to, and when your ballot was submitted or updated, connected to your member ID. For Pick’em, we also store your game selections, tiebreak prediction, display handle at submission, entry timestamps, and the public-picks notice version acknowledged when you submit.
- Technical information: our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes connection and request information such as IP addresses, browser information, and request times to deliver and protect the site. Operational logs may record requests, errors, and security events.
- Messages to us: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include.
Website sign-in requests Discord’s identity permission. It does not request your Discord password, email address, private messages, or full server membership list. Discord access and refresh tokens are not retained after sign-in. The community bot separately obtains aggregate server member and online counts and posts poll results.
Why we use it
We use this information to sign you in, keep your profile connected across visits, save and update your ballot, calculate results, prevent duplicate or abusive participation, respond to requests, and keep the site working securely. Your Discord ID lets us recognize the same account even if its handle changes.
Retention and security
We currently retain member profiles, ballots, and Pick’em contest records for account continuity and contest history; they do not have an automatic deletion date. Login sessions expire separately. Technical logs and backups follow the applicable provider’s retention settings. We may retain limited information when needed for security, legal obligations, or resolving a dispute.
We use HTTPS, protected session cookies, restricted administrative access, and server-side checks to safeguard information. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Your choices and requests
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your member information and individual ballots or Pick’em entries, email contact@orangepower.net. Include your Discord handle or user ID so we can locate your account. We may ask you to verify control of that account; do not send passwords, bot tokens, or login codes.
We review requests manually. Rights and applicable exceptions depend on where you live. Published aggregate results do not identify individual voters and generally remain part of the archive. Removing your data here does not delete your Discord account or information held independently by Discord, linked sites, or other people. You can also remove the application from Discord’s Authorized Apps settings; this stops future authorization but does not itself erase data already held here or necessarily end an existing website session.
Children and linked services
Member features are intended for people at least 13 years old who also meet Discord’s minimum age requirements in their country. We do not knowingly collect member information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.
Discord conversations, X, our forum partner, and other linked services have their own rules and privacy practices. This policy covers this website, not those separate services.
Changes and contact
We will update the date on this page when our practices change. For material changes affecting existing member data, we will provide additional notice on the site or through the community before applying the change where required.
